Is Colorado’s recruiting exodus the early signs that Deion Sanders’s euphoria might be on the wane? Apparently, amid the opening of 11 player scholarship players spots who were in their final years of eligibility this season, including two graduates in receiver Xavier Weaver and safety Rodrick Ward, a couple of transfer portal defections haven’t made the task easy for Coach Prime. Considering his entry to the Buffs team was most unconventional given how it was an Instagram Live affair, 4-star Aaron Butler becomes the fourth de-commitment after OL Talan Chandler, RB Jamarice Wilder, and QB Danny O’Neil.

Calabasas athlete Aaron Butler broke the news, revealing he won’t be going ahead with the Buffs as he enters the CFB draft. Butler spoke to 247Sports regarding his decision, saying, “I respect what they are doing and how they are going about doing it; I’m just seeking something different for my collegiate experience.

Long story short, it wasn’t the right fit for me.

“I wish them the best of luck on what they are building and have no doubts they will be successful. I have much love to the BuffNation and the staff. They have been nothing but supportive even before my commitment, and to this day. Please respect my decision.

While wishing the team well, the WR shared his motive. On the contrary, rewinding what he said after he was recruited over Deion Sanders’s Instagram live just seven months ago, he made his stance very clear in the comments section these hollow words now certainly paint a contrasting picture, “My last visit was for the spring game and you can just tell big things are coming. I see a lot of opportunity to step in play right away and I love the talent that’s coming in. I know a lot of people were stressing about the players leaving but trust, there are some dogs coming in.”

The Wide Receiver is certainly a loss for the team, but the Buffs won’t be hurting too much over it. After all, Coach Prime has roped in three players to strengthen the offensive line. One of the trio is 5-star recruit Jordan Seaton. This could just be the start and it remains to be seen if Sanders can put together the perfect team that he envisages.

After going 3-0, the Buffs slipped to 1-8 in the next 9 games to finish 12th in the Pac-12. They lost six in a row to conclude the season, primarily due to QB Shedeur not receiving enough protection on the plays. The 21-year-old was sacked 56 times and HC is making it right by adding replenishments to the team’s O-line. So far, it seems he’s made three good decisions with Seaton, Tyler Johnson, and Yakiri Walker heading to Folsom Field.

Guard Tyler Johnson and center Yakiri Walker are set to join the proceedings for the Buffs this year. Both these young players broke the news via social media. Johnson came through the transfer portal on Wednesday from the University of Houston, while Walker came in from the University of Connecticut.

Coach Prime can only hope that there are no more nasty surprises in store. In the recent past, he made his views on players backing off on their commitments clear by saying, “We hope they plan on staying and some guys… You know, if they want to go, God bless them. We want the best for them. We want the best for all these young men.”

I've always had a strong connection with words. They've given me the passage to express my emotions from starting as a 7th grader writing poems in school to now writing articles based around leaders like Deion Sanders.
