“Bassie Prime is back, baby!“. Coach Prime Deion Sanders and Buffs two-way star Travis Hunter are enjoying their off-gridiron adventures to the fullest. As two of the most prominent figures in the Colorado college football scene, their competitive spirit is not just seen in their on-field performance, but even in their passion for fishing. 

Deion Sanders believes in striving to be the best in everything that you do. Recently after the two-way star outdid his head coach by catching a 10+ pound bass in his new lake, it’s Deion Sanders’ time to shine now. Coach Prime is back to reap the satisfaction of having more fun than Hunter today. 

Coach Prime shows off his catch as he taunts Travis Hunter

Coach Prime hyped his viewers with a jolly “Guess who’s out here fishing today!” as he slowly held up a bass he caught this morning. He taunted his fellow fishing companion saying, “Travis said he’s having all the fun.” To which, Travis Hunter, who was fishing close by retorted, “I AM having all the fun.”

Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter are off to a great offseason start as they deepen their bond over fishing. But the head coach and the star player have a connection in several aspects to hang out together like buddies. Coach Prime knows talent when he sees one and Travis Hunter is full of talent right from the moment when he joined JSU. 

A beautiful unbreakable bond

Deion Sanders took Travis Hunter under his wings not just as a head coach would, but as a father would, by mentoring him on and off the field. As for Travis Hunter, he looks up to Coach Prime as his idol and father figure. He also revealed that his mother trusts his head coach, which gives him more reason to stay devoted to him.

Prime shares a unique bond with all of his players, especially Travis. Back in September, when Hunter was struggling with an injury and was pressuring the HC to let him back on the field, Prime had replied to him, “I care about you more than I care about this game.” Travis Hunter’s decision to follow Deion Sanders to Colorado in the 2023 season alone speaks volumes. And on top of that, they share the same crazy obsession for fishing. Nothing could break the bond between them easily!
