“No greater coach in the NFL than Jim Harbaugh,” John Harbaugh had praised his younger brother Jim Harbaugh when the 49ers lost the Super Bowl to the Ravens. Now, after 11 years, Jim Harbaugh is on a rampage to prove the statement right. As of now, Harbaugh is focusing on “building infrastructure” at the Chargers ahead of his first official meeting with the players.

Post a losing season, the Los Angeles Chargers decided to revamp some positions, among which were the head coach and the General Manager. While Jim Harbaugh has checked the head coach box, the position of General Manager stays vacant. ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry reveals that Brandon Brown and Joe Hortiz are the leading candidates for the role.

Brandon Brown, the New York Giants Assistant General Manager, reportedly completed his second interview with the Chargers. Along with him, Ravens, director of player personnel, Joe Hortiz, also completed his second interview with the team. Jim Harbaugh, too, got the offer after his second interview with the Chargers. Hence, the chances of either of the two landing the position of Chargers general manager does not seem too farfetched. On one hand, Benjamin Allbright mentioned that Michigan was a school Brown scouted while he was with the Colts and Eagles.

However, the real feud between Jim Harbaugh and John Harbaugh would ignite if Chargers finalize Hortiz. Being a Ravens staff member, Hortiz has worked extensively with John Harbaugh. Will this grow into something more competitive amidst the growing rumors of John Harbaugh being a reason For Jim Harbaugh’s switch?
