At the beginning of Sanders’s tenure as a head coach for the Buffaloes, he revamped the roster by transferring the players who didn’t suit his desired vision. Following this approach, Smith was asked to take a transfer and finally moved to Austin Peay. Subsequently, Smith said, “He was destroying guys’ confidence and belief in themselves. The way he did it, it could’ve been done with a little more compassion.”

After Smith’s comments, haters targeted Sanders for his approach. However, Shedeur Sanders came in his father’s support by replying to Smith’s comment. Shedeur said, “Ion even remembers him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best.” Considering Coach Prime’s mental strength, it would be easy for him to navigate such phases. The man of strength and resilience, Prime Time is habitual to such a tussle.
