Joey Slackman acknowledges Colorado Buffaloes’ joining offer 

Amidst a dismal 4-7 season, the Colorado Buffaloes just took their hopes higher by making an offer to Joey Slackman. The Penn DL declared his decision to transfer on Monday after achieving 50 tackles and four sacks this fall. Within less than 24 hours, he received 17 offers from teams aside from Colorado including Arizona State, Oregon State, and Miami, among others. He posted an acknowledgement tweet to Colorado on his Twitter stating he feels “honored to receive an offer from the University of Colorado!

As a veteran DL at Penn, he played in 28 games for three years where he achieved 115 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and 11 sacks. Joey Slackman still has one season of eligibility remaining and various teams are fighting over this graduate transfer. This season alone, he completed 50 tackles, 4.0 sacks, 12.0 tackles for loss, a defended pass, and a blocked kick.

Joey Slackman wrote to Penn on his Twitter, “Thank you to the Penn brotherhood for an amazing 4.5 years. I’m extremely grateful for all of my coaches, teammates, trainers, and mentors that have helped develop me into the player that I am today.” And now, fans wait with bated breath as the highly-sought transfer chooses the best program to join. 

Colorado Buffaloes need some help

We can only bet on a thin line if Joey Slackman will accept Colorado’s offer among the list of many other top-ranking football programs. But if Slackman joins the Buffs, perhaps fans will be able to see a better record than the current 4-7 overall.

Colorado didn’t fare well in the last game against Washington State when they fell 56-14. On top of that whack, star QB Shedeur Sanders is injured with a numb hand that’s causing him trouble gripping the ball. Coach Prime and the Buffs’ fate lay in uncertain hands now as they face their next opponent, the Utah Utes on November 26.
