The Colorado Buffaloes were left without a DC after Charles Kelly left the program to join Auburn. But now, everything is falling into place as Deion Sanders has landed a promising addition to his roster. Prime’s new pick is young but is brimming with talent and charisma.

For a program that transitioning from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 next season, there can be no loose ee. In a means to protect his son Shedeur Sanders who was sacked 52 times last season, Coach Prime has built a strong offensive line with Pat Shurmur becoming the new OC after Sean Lewis. And now that the program’s new DC is potentially locked, a highly anticipated season awaits.

Robert Livingston is expected to become the new Colorado DC

Coach Prime Deion Sanders is expected to hire Bengals safeties coach Robert Livingston as the team’s defensive coordinator, as per the exchange between RK and NFL insider Ian Rapoport. This is what Rapoport had to say about Livingston, “He’s young, he’s bright, and really impressive in personHe learned from one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL.”

The 33-year-old met Deion Sanders in Colorado today and there is a high possibility that he’ll clinch the major DC role. Robert Livingston spent his last nine seasons with the Bengals, the last eight as a secondary coach under DC Lou Anarumo. Last season, the Bengals ranked third in the league in team interceptions with 17. The fact that Livingston is young, he may be able to resonate well with young college football players without the generational gap of misunderstanding.

Would Robert Livingston be ready to turn the Buffs defense around?

The only college experience that Robert Livingston has was from 2010-11 when he initially worked with the safeties at Furman before he became a defensive quality control coach at Vanderbilt in the first year. He joined the Bengals as a scout in 2012 and it was in 2015 that he became an on-field coach. His defensive efforts in his first season on-field assisted the Bengals in coming 2nd in the NFL, allowing only 17.4 points per game. The same year, the team ranked third in the league with 21 interceptions while allowing the second-fewest TD passes with 18. He contributed in helping CB Adam Jones and S Reggie Nelson being selected to the Pro Bowl.

It’s going to be hard work for Livingston because he’ll be tasked with salvaging the Buffs from their embarrassing 1-8 Pac-12 record last season. The Buffs are among the last teams on the FBS, ranking 124th with 34.8 points surrendered per game. The future isn’t certain yet but hopefully, everything will unfold in a positive light.
