Will they make it? The chatter about Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes potentially competing to reach the Big 12 championship game reached fever pitch. On June 4, FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt made a bold prediction about Colorado, saying, “There’s a chance that Colorado is competing to go to the Big 12 Championship game.” Since the statement, endorsements have followed suit.

On the heels of Joel Klatt, On3 analyst J.D. PicKell seemed to concur about Colorado’s championship scenario. The program’s stock is already skyrocketing. Even so, the horde of haters are adamant that Colorado reaching the championship isn’t a valid expectation. But if the what-ifs become reality, this is what PicKell envisions would happen.

J.D. PicKell offers what-if insights on Colorado clinching the Big 12 Championship

What J.D. PicKell said on On3 on June 24 seems to have given Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes a major boost. As part of The Hard Count podcast, he opened the episode with a tweet from JT Sports which read, “What if Deion wins the Big 12?” Based on this what-if, PicKell presented his thoughts on what it would mean for the Buffs to win the conference title, saying, “If this happens, make no mistake… Deion gets the last laugh. He would and we’ll come back to the videos where we have questioned their process and questioned the portal and questioned the recruiting strategy and all that and we’ll say we were wrong.”

No matter what happens this season, those who doubt Deion Sanders are unlikely to admit they were wrong. But Colorado is already winning the public’s support. According to PicKell, Colorado’s top priority this season is to enhance its performance in the line of scrimmage. He added, “If Colorado wins the Big 12, it doesn’t hurt your chances at landing guys like Julian Lewis or other individuals that are of his caliber.” That being said, one of the most important events is going on right now in Colorado with the presence of Julian Lewis.

Julian Lewis steals Colorado’s attention and expectation

There’s some mystery surrounding Julian Lewis’ latest trip to Colorado. He not only visited the Buffs, but with Shedeur Sanders, they are creating high expectations for Buffs fans with intriguing signs. In a recent Instagram post, Lewis posted a picture of him sitting on the CU Buffs throne reaching out to a key that the Buffs starting QB is handing out to him. Many have interpreted this picture as Shedeur Sanders passing over the starting role to Julian Lewis. And that’s not all.

In the next photo, Julian Lewis posted another picture of himself sitting with the Buffs uniform laid out in front of him. This move is significant because it reminds us of the time when Deion Sanders himself laid out his San Francisco 49ers jersey as he studied the film ahead of his Super Bowl game. Could these subtle hints have anything to do with Julian Lewis’ potential plan to flip from USC to Colorado?
