It never gets old. The Sanders are making the headlines yet again. Riding hot on the heels of the latest drama between Jaxson Dart and Billy Bowman, another revelation greets the fans. Shedeur Sanders, who jumped into the online feud as well, finds himself an unlikely defender.

DNVR Journalist and host had some bold words to say regarding the heavy backlash that Sanders often receives as compared to other players. Jake Schwanitz shared his opinion on X while sharing Jaxson Dart’s, “We gon see” comment.

An unlikely hero for Sanders?

The whole drama started off when Bowman captioned and shared a video of Jaxson Dart making a throw during a practice session at Camp Manning, by stating, “Pick Six”. It kind of discredits Dart’s overall throwing skills and signals to him being a much worse player. Dart himself retorted back with, “Yeah okay buddy, we gon see.” Jaxson has more than enough confidence in his talent. However, now, we find Jake Schwanitz from DNVR joining in on the drama. ”Compare these replies to any time Shedeur Sanders tweets anything.” This statement brought to light the alleged double standard in the reactions Sanders receives compared to other players.

Historically, Sanders faced a lot of backlash for his social media and on-field shenanigans. Even though some would say it was quite warranted. Like that time when Nick Saban retired and Shedeur took to X and wrote, “Alabama players tap n“. In a wild attempt to lure Alabama players to his team. Also that one time when Sanders performed his signature “watch flex” celebration after just narrowly defeating Arizona State. Fans and media alike widely criticized the arrogant move where he flaunts his $70,000 Audemars Piguet watch.

Schwanitz’s tweet does bring out a great angle regarding the harshness that Shedeur faces, but is it true that he is the only one who goes through this? All the times he’s got into trouble with his fans were over incidents he did out of pride and like the old saying goes, “Pride goes before a fall“. However, is an extreme backlash for everything he does justified?

Is the backlash always justified?

On one hand, Sanders has demonstrated remarkable talent and leadership in the field. In his debut for Colorado, he threw for 510 yards and four touchdowns against TCU, breaking school records and showcasing his potential as a top quarterback prospect. His impressive stats, including a 69.3% completion rate and 3,230 passing yards last season, highlight his skill and determination.

On the other hand, we got childish clashes like the one where he called Xavier Smith “mid” and gave a clear threat out to Kuld by saying, “I’ll spare you only this 1 time.” It is very important to understand that some people just let the game get to their heads, but it’s alright. Many praise Sanders for his leadership and performance, at the same time others suggest he should focus more on humility. Carter Bahns of 247Sports believes Sanders has the potential to prove doubters wrong with improved performance and leadership in the upcoming season.

But at the end of the day, what truly matters is one puts their money where their mouth is and so far, Shedeur definitely has managed to get that done.
