A lot goes on if you’re a staff member at a college, especially if you’re Deion Sanders, who is trying to balance classes and football. After all, he took the reins of a dying program, feeding expectations in the minds of all the Colorado fans with his strong start in 2023. And now, after all the promises he made, he’s an easy target for all who want to question his antics.

Deion Sanders has faced criticism in the past, particularly when players like Cormani McClain and Xavier Smith voiced their concerns. Whether or not these claims are true, the Buffs have been significantly affected, losing 48 players to the portal. This mass exodus has prompted Coach Prime to address the situation.

Coach JB slams Deion Sanders’ memory lapse

Nothing stopped Jason Brown from speaking his mind about what he felt about Deion Sanders forgetting his class and players’ names. In the May 11 episode of The Coach JB Show with Big Smitty, he said, “[Deion] clearly said ‘What is the name of the class?’ ‘When did I teach it? That is content driven. He ridiculed Coach Prime’s inability to remember the most essential things, like what class he was teaching or when he forgot his center’s name last season. Coach JB added, “Who cares! His job is to win games, not teach class.”

Deion Sanders’ focus is football because he’s already in the middle of a challenge with so many players leaving the program after stimulating his fans to believe that despite the player exodus. He endeavors to prove Colorado is still good, and he implores the fans to retain their faith in him. While Deion Sanders tries to defend his program, he also reveals that they messed up as he shoots a grounding reality to the departing players.

During an appearance on Thee Pre Game Network Show, Deion Sanders took full responsibility for the high number of players leaving for the portal. While he maintains that the CU Buffs staff always provides individual attention to players, he also acknowledges that he could have dedicated more time to ensure his players felt valued and attended to.

As Coach Prime’s statement reveals, “Now there are some that you can try all you want man and that’s on us because we messed up okay? He also said that perhaps the two parties are just not meant to complement each other as he added, “Because you ain’t built for us. You may be built for somebody else, but you’re just not built for us. What do you think about Coach Prime’s coaching style?
