The host highlighted the Gators’ level of proficiency in the league and iterated how McClain wasn’t good enough. He said, “Florida football fans have a very high standard. Way higher than Colorado and they do expect to get back to those days where they’re winning consistently 10, 11 games per season. I was thinking McClain would be extremely fortunate if a school like USF or UCF, a lower tier team in the state of Florida would go after him but man, oh man, this right here, I didn’t see it coming.” 

Later, he took the gloves out and came right out swinging for the entirety of McClain’s credibility as a player, which, according to him, is definitely not prepared for the toughness of the SEC.

Cormani McClain is not ready for the SEC

The transfer portal pot continues to heat up and McClain is anticipating a return to his home state of Florida. Even though he’s been a promising prospect back in 2023, it looks like he’s only been on the receiving end of all the backlash this season. The beef against Deion Sanders has cost him his reputation as a talented player, as fans continue to boo him on social media.

As such, even the YouTuber, ‘MattBeGreat’ didn’t hold back when criticizing McClain. He claimed that the SEC is way beyond his cup of tea and will be demolished when he steps into the league.

His comments said, “There’s no way to sugarcoat this. He’s not SEC material and if this does happen, he’s going to get eaten alive. The SEC will eat Cormani McClain’s lunch like it’s nothing and you better believe me on that one. This young man, wishing the best of luck, extremely talented, [but] he ain’t ready for the SEC. He ain’t even close.”

There isn’t a lot of ongoing support that is taking precedence over the doubts for McClain, but the youngster is determined to prove the odds wrong and make a name for himself amid the fire that surrounds him.
