Rumors are spread very quickly as few verify what’s real. On that note, a few days ago, there was a rumor that Cormani McClain had been “Kicked Out” from the Florida Gators. Now, Cormani has been in the headlines these past few weeks because of his alleged indiscipline and being out of shape, but the school’s announcement of his jersey number for the upcoming season has put those rumors to rest and his mom is all for it!

Just like any other mom, Kaishay also wants what’s best for her son, Cormani McClain, especially when it comes to his football career. On that note, his mother shared a lovely post on her Twitter account on July 28th with the caption “#25 New beginnings”, revealing his Jersey number for the team. This comes in at an important time because Cormani, who has often been questioned about his work ethic, was rumored to be off the Gators as well.

Not too long ago, McClain was reported to be showing up late and missing practices. Cormani’s agent soon debunked the rumors and now it seems like all is just fine in Florida, with Kaishay’s post and Cormani rocking the Gators uniform. However, the story is not ending here, how exactly did Cormani end up in this mess in the first place?

Cormani McClain is “doing just fine” at Florida

The five-star recruit joined Colorado in January 2023 after Deion joined the team and McClain was also all the hype around that time. Unfortunately, it faded away very quickly, and the cornerback left Colorado after locking horns with Sanders because of his alleged behavioral and discipline issues. However, the actual reason for leaving was totally different; McClain said that he didn’t want to just “play for clicks”, referring to the social media and YouTube hype that Colorado has and that he wants to play “for real”.

On the other hand, not everyone trusts rumors, and Billy Napier, head coach of the Florida Gators, was among them. After Colorado, McClain joined the Gators, but the rumors were still going strong. At that point, praising McClain at SEC Media Days, Napier said “He’s doing fine. A lot of these get blown out of proportion. He’s a junior player. Obviously, we’re well aware of his history.” Along with that, after Billy’s clarification, McClain got support from Florida secondary coach, Will Harris over on X, who simply said “Not true!!!” to the rumors.

Presently, the interesting fact is that all this negativity has taken a break from the 20-year-old player’s life and his current focus is to look forward to his first season with the Gators. Now, with his Jersey number all set, fans just have to wait let his performance speak for itself.
