Dallan Hayden joins Deion Sanders’ CU Buffs

Colorado’s offense just got a major upgrade as experienced running back Dallan Hayden, formerly of Ohio State, has committed to the Buffaloes with three years of eligibility left. Hayden announced his move on Instagram, posting, “Going to play for Prime Time hope the Big 12 play Prevent.” Fans and followers were quick to celebrate the news, and even his former Buckeye teammate, C.J. Stroud, chimed in with a supportive “Congrats lil bro.”

Stroud, the star quarterback who played alongside Hayden at Ohio State in 2022, went on to become a Heisman Trophy finalist and was drafted by the Houston Texans. His congratulatory message adds to the hype surrounding Hayden’s arrival and has Buffs fans buzzing about the potential of their new running back.

Buffs bolster offense with Hayden’s commitment

Deion Sanders‘ team has faced some recent losses in both offense and defense. However, the addition of Dallan Hayden is a big win for the Buffs’ offense as of now. Hayden fills a crucial gap left by junior RB Alton McCaskill, who recently entered the transfer portal.  The former Ohio State running back is clearly excited about his new team, as he said, “They have great receivers, great quarterback, o-line” and believes that he “can help that running back room a lot.” He will soon join a backfield that includes Dylan Edwards (sophomore), Micah Welch (a standout freshman), and Sy’veon Wilkerson (senior).

As a true freshman at Ohio State, Hayden played immediately, getting 5 touchdowns and 553 rushing yards in 2022. However, his last season was shortened to just three games. Despite that, his talent caught the eye of the Buffs. Now this will make him reunite with former Buckeyes tight end Sam Hart in Boulder.
