Edwards started the first four games of the 2023 season (and six overall), finishing with 321 rushing yards and a touchdown. Additionally, he added 36 receptions for 299 yards and four touchdowns. Originally hailing from Derby, Kansas, Dylan Edwards had initially committed to both Kansas State and Notre Dame before ultimately choosing Colorado. His decision to enter the transfer portal follows Colorado’s recent acquisition of running back transfer Dallan Hayden, previously with Ohio State.

Additionally, the Buffaloes lost Alton McCaskill IV, an all-conference selection from Houston, to the portal. Edwards, anticipating a role as a pass catcher in coordinator Pat Shurmur’s offense, now seeks new opportunities. Colorado wraps up its spring practice with the annual Black and Gold spring game on Saturday.
