On June 29, the Buffaloes‘ head coach flaunted his offseason fun on Instagram. His caption read: “Y’all call it fishing, we call it catching! You know we gotta compete & HAVE FUN with everything we do. I got a boat and a trailer NOW that I can’t wait to Pull Up on y’all!” Deion’s joy over his new purchase was evident, but his star player, Travis Hunter, couldn’t resist a little friendly competition. Hunter quickly commented, “I still have the biggest fish out of there remember that,” subtly reminding everyone of his superior fishing skills.

Not to be outdone, Coach Prime playfully defended himself: “@db3_tip I don’t know if that’s true.” This playful banter highlights a running joke between the two. Last December, Hunter snagged a massive 10-pound bass from Prime Lake and openly challenged his coach to a fishing duel. Since then, their fishing rivalry has become legendary. Deion often playfully throws shade at Hunter, claiming he can never be dethroned as the fishing champion.

Deion Sanders shows off his customized fishing throne

Deion Sanders became the proud owner of a new Bass Cat boat, a sleek 20.5-inch machine. Not just that — this beauty is decked out in the Buffaloes’ signature colors: black, gold, and white.  It has chic seats boasting “Prime” and Puma written on it. Other thoughtful touches include ample storage for live catches and fishing rods, making it the ultimate fishing machine. Coach Prime couldn’t contain his excitement when he first saw it, calling it “legit.”

The Buffaloes head coach even took a live catch and proudly tossed it back under his custom boat’s well. “Throwing them live will make it feel like real fishing for some reason,” he chuckled, showcasing his skills and new pride and joy. “I would like to go somewhere so that they could see my boat…the way go got a pull up that’s the thing,” he added. Clearly, Coach Prime seems so proud of his “ultimate fishing machine” and can’t wait to show off this beast to everyone. This means we can soon see more friendly fishing face-offs between Deion and Hunter.
