Looking back at the 2023 season, there was a lot that Colorado needed to improve. Coach Prime Deion Sanders has taken it upon himself to build a strong team no matter what big changes he had to put through. His plan in his own words- “We started building from the outside in but now we’re building from the inside out so the game plan is right on target.”

2024 could make or break Coach Prime because of what he’s promising. A season of expectations, he said. So far, he has added seven commits and 24 transfers, an impressive feat for a program that went 4-8 last season. More changes are coming after spring but right now, Deion Sanders is happy where he’s at.

Not many would use Coach Prime’s choice of words to describe Colorado’s lackluster roster before the offseason overhaul. But this is what Deion Sanders had to say about his team in his first season as the HC. “We were garbage on the inside… Now the second phase of this building process is now you build it from inside out because you already got outside.”

Indeed, Colorado suffered miserably with a weak offense and defense last season. Deion Sanders didn’t hide his intention to upgrade the offense to give Shedeur Sanders more protection in his last season in college football. The Buffs secured over 30 players for the 2024 season. But that’s not the end as is seen in Coach Prime’s statement, “We’re not done. Soon after spring, there’s going to be some more additions. That was the strategy and we’re staying on the path.”

With one 5-star, three 4-star, and three 3-star commits and one 5-star, 10 4-star, and 13 3-star transfers, Coach Prime is looking hopeful to bring more players after spring.

Looking at his new team working out, Deion Sanders proudly said on CBS Sports, “If you can see the young men working out, if you could see the camaraderie if you could see them challenging each other and holding each other accountable, it’s unbelievable.” Colorado’s spring football practices will kick off on March 18 while the annual Black and Gold spring football game is set to take place on April 27.
