What better role model to look up to other than one’s father? This is the case in the Colorado Buffaloes squad, as Deion Sanders Jr. has considered Deion Sanders’ playbook. However, instead of following word to word, Coach Prime’s eldest son tries his luck improvising the playbook.

In a recent interview, Deion Sanders Jr. shared his choice to “take a knee.” By stepping onto the field and defying conventional wisdom, he showed how consistency and taking risks go hand in hand.

Revisiting one of the losses faced by the Buffaloes on Reach The People Media, Deion Sanders Jr. exposed how he did something out of the box. While Coach Prime had often been particular about the tussle between confidence and arrogance, his son, Sanders Jr., stepped in for a rebellious act. As revealed by Bucky, “Then at the end of the game we used losing by like 40 something points bro 30 something points then I kicked the div again I took a knee then he’s like ‘so why you take a knee?'”

He further shed light on how North Texas kicked seven yards deep into the end zone. When Deion Jr. was under SMU coach Jason Philip’s guidance, his team lost by a 40 points-plus margin. However, he did not want to leave the field, Instead, took a knee and questioned the coach while introspecting his performance.  In an attempt to justify his action, Deion Sanders Jr. further commented, “I feel you even when you down you still supposed to be up like no be that same person you are even when you getting killed out there.”

This goes back to another vital pointer in Coach Prime’s playbook, where the power of reflection and the reason behind any outcome must be understood. Here, too, the son excelled in tracing the issue and acting upon it accordingly, even though it meant taking a risk. Deion Sanders Jr. manages all things off-field for the Buffs, not only on the gridiron.

As far as chasing greatness is concerned, it is a father-son scenario. Now that he takes his time away from the on-field success of the Buffs, Deion Jr. channels all his energy and attention to managing the team’s social media presence. The 2018 venture, Well Off Media, is none other than Bucky’s brainchild. His impact was not unnoticed by Coach Prime’s watchful eyes, who acknowledged his eldest son as “the real difference-maker.”

Online media is far more diverse and intricate, and Deion Jr. strives to evolve his creativity and passion to bolster the Buffs fan base. He propels himself to great heights and conforms to one motto, not just chasing financial freedom and fame. He said, “It’s a significant difference between good and great. So just aim for greatness. Don’t be good. Don’t just try to make money. Be great at something, cause if you’re great at something, for you the best at it, you gonna make the most money out it.”

As much as Deion Sanders Jr.’s bold decision paid off on-field by “taking a knee,” his dedication bore great results, with his YouTube channel pulling in about 440,000 subscribers. If Deion Sanders had a playbook for off-the-field scenarios, his son would have ticked all the pointers in one go.
