Another Pro Football Hall of Famer could be joining the Colorado Buffaloes! Deion Sanders is already building an impressive roster for both players and coaches for the 2024 season. And with the former NFL defensive tackle on the verge of siding with him, nothing is holding him back.

Warren Sapp is not just a “teddy bear” as Coach Prime described him. He’s also a Super Bowl champion who played in the NFL for 13 seasons, winning several awards including the Lombardi Award. And it’s Deion Sanders who’s potentially going to benefit from this gem of an athlete who is very likely set to join his coaching team.

A lot of assumptions are up as to whether Warren Sapp would fit in Colorado as the new DC, DL coach, or analyst. We don’t know for sure yet but according to what Professor Neely said in his interview with DNVR Sports, it looks like Coach Prime is still keen on having the 51-year-old by his side. Professor Neely said, “I think there is a role opportunity for Warren Sap in Boulder at some point.”

Professor Neely did admit that Sapp will have a role in Boulder. However, the question is whether he’ll be joining the football team. But given that it’s Coach Prime who’s showing more excitement over Sapp getting his diploma could be that we might soon see him assuming an official role at Colorado.

How likely is Warren Sapp to join Coach Prime’s team?

Deion Sanders sang praises of Warren Sapp on his previous appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. And the way he talks about him shows that it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Sapp joins the Buffs football team. Coach Prime said, “To see him go get his diploma, because I know what he wants to do, he wants to coach on this staff and he wants to be a part of this staff. And he is going to be a part of this staff.”

Deion Sanders also revealed that Sapp had been in Boulder with the Buffs’ football team and that he gets along pretty well with the defensive line players. But that’s not all. He also said, “Even the offensive linemen, they glean from him too because he’s so thought-provoking.” It truly shouldn’t be a shocker once an official announcement is made for Sapp with a position at Colorado with Coach Prime.
