Shedeur Sanders’ talent was on full display at the Colorado Buffaloes’ spring game, sparking anticipation and excitement beyond Boulder. Many analysts, including the team’s head coach, Deion Sanders, have eagerly predicted him to be a top contender in the 2025 quarterback draft class. The quarterback has undoubtedly lived up to the hype with his recent performance. He completed 71% of his passes, leading his offense to victory.

Fresh off his draft selection by the New Orleans Saints, Kool-Aid McKinstry was asked about his former Alabama teammate, Jalen Milroe. He was questioned if Milroe could be the first quarterback picked in next year’s NFL draft. Without any second thoughts, McKinstry quickly answered, “Definitely.” He continued to hype his former QB, saying, “I think the guy definitely gon go out this year and just go crazy. Heisman…. I’m telling you bra I believe in him.” This bold endorsement from McKinstry for his “special guy” now poses an additional threat to Shedeur, who also eyes the 2025 NFL Draft.

Even though the Colorado Buffaloes had a mediocre 4-8 season last year, Shedeur Sanders still made headlines with 27 touchdowns. The excitement grew even more after he completed 10 out of 14 passes for 116 yards in the recent spring game. One of Shedeur’s biggest strengths is his ability to throw accurate deep balls, making him a star in college football.

However, he faces fierce competition from Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, another potential top prospect in the 2025 NFL draft. Milroe, who became the Crimson Tide’s starter midseason, also had an impressive 23-touchdown season. His muscular build and athletic running style make him a dual-threat quarterback, posing a unique challenge to Shedeur. With a completion rate of 65%, Milroe is close to Shedeur, signaling a tougher competition ahead. But the 2025 quarterback class isn’t limited to just these two names. Players like Quinn Ewers and Carson Beck will compete for the coveted No. 1 draft spot. With the 2024 season still ahead, much remains to be seen, and many such potential surprises could emerge for Shedeur.
