With the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine underway, the Chicago Bears are carefully evaluating potential quarterback prospects. The Bears are in a fact-finding mode to get the best for their team. This has sparked talk about them possibly picking a big-name player like Caleb Williams for the quarterback spot.

Despite this, Bears’ Moore remains steadfast in his support for the team’s current QB. Be it December or February, D.J. Moore’s stance hasn’t changed. Could this indicate that the Bears are leaning towards keeping Justin Fields and trading the 1st overall pick?

DJ Moore has earlier expressed his desire for Justin Fields to stay as Chicago’s quarterback back in December. He emphasized that Fields is the right fit because “He’s him.” Even now, in February, Moore hasn’t changed his stance as revealed in a recent interview. Moore appeared on NFL Total Access and openly supported Fields when asked about the quarterbacks in the draft. “I still don’t think they compare to Justin right now,” he asserted confidently. It’s no surprise Moore is backing his QB.

Last season, Moore had his best year yet while playing alongside Fields. He led the Bears with 96 catches for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns, all career highs. “The relationship jelled real well from the beginning,” Moore explained. He further reflected the bond they’ve built since his trade from the Carolina Panthers last year.“Since I got traded, he was in contact, and we started throwing together, so it made the transition into games and everything easy.”

Meanwhile, after Chicago secured the top pick, it was widely believed that the team would make the best use of it. Speculation leaned towards them selecting a new quarterback, likely USC’s Caleb Williams. Even oddsmakers view Williams ahead of other top quarterbacks like Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels. Though the draft order might change, Williams is seen as an outstanding choice. However, Moore’s recent post suggests the Bears might stick with their current quarterback for some time.

Will the Bears keep their quarterback in the 2024 draft?

Caleb Williams is highly anticipated for the NFL Draft. Betting odds strongly favor him as the No. 1 overall pick. Various sportsbooks give different odds, but all suggest Williams is likely to be chosen first. That’s why there’s special interest in Williams possibly joining the Chicago Bears, who own the No. 1 pick.
