People are fuming over Shilo Sanders. The reason? Remember the 2015 incident where he was accused of assault and battery on a security officer? The victim dragged Shilo and his parents to court. A trial was conducted in 2022 and it was found that Shilo was guilty. As a result, he was ordered to pay over $11.8 million to John Darjean- the victim. What took place after this shocked the world.

Shilo filed for bankruptcy. Surely, this didn’t sit well with people. On the May 29 episode of the Coach JB show with Big Smitty, one of the biggest controversies of the Colorado Buffaloes that seems to have taken over the college football world was discussed. Coach Jason Brown, often known as Deion Sanders’ biggest hater, didn’t hold anything back and threw multiple shots at him.

“I believe that Sanders family has $11 million floating around. We’ve seen the cars they’re buying, the houses they’re buying for his daddy etc etc. I’m not in their pockets, I really don’t care. Point I’m making is- Do what is right! At some point we’re teaching a kid how to go bankrupt and not pay the 11 mil that you received in NIL money or etc,” he stated.

Do what is right. You’re avoiding the fact that your son did this act, heinous act. And now we’re defending it by teaching them how to go bankrupt… To me, it’s just the character and the ethics of this whole thing. To me, it screams like entitlement…

What surprised many is that Shilo Sanders filed for bankruptcy despite his NIL earnings. His current NIL value is $1.1 million. As per the information available, he failed to declare his NIL earnings in court. In fact, John Darjean was on a podcast recently and had questioned his NIL valuation. He also accused Deion Sanders of tampering with the evidence.

How was Deion Sanders involved in the matter?

Considering the security officer suffered a broken neck, damage to his cervical spine, and permanent neurological injuries, this became a very serious matter. Shilo, who plays as the safety for the Colorado Buffaloes, was 15 back then. Also, let’s not forget that the situation took place at Focus Academies in Dallas- Deion Sanders was the CEO of that school. Hence, many felt that Coach Prime should also be held accountable.

However, things don’t end there. It turns out the assault took place because Sanders had instructed Darjean to take away Shilo’s phone. When the security officer attempted to take Shilo’s phone, he allegedly elbowed him and knocked him to the ground. Hence, Deion Sanders too was named in the assault case along with his son and ex-wife Pilar.

Now, tensions seem to be taking over Coach Prime and Shilo as the nearly decade-old scandal seems to threaten their glamorous lifestyles. However, it looks like the Sanders family is standing like a rock alongside their son in his time of crisis, per a recent video from their celebration of Memorial Day.

On Memorial Day, Prime Time took to social media to share their celebrations. Shilo was seen hugging his grandmother and then his father. Post this, Shilo asked, “Is the food good?” While Deion Sanders is quite active on social media and regularly updates his fans, his silence on Shilo’s case has bugged many.
