The 110th Rose Bowl is a playoff semifinal determining a contender for the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship. Known officially as the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential, it concludes the 2023 FBS football season. The subsequent National Championship game takes place a week later at NRG Stadium in Houston, promising back-to-back exciting matchups.
In the days leading up to the semi-final championship clash between Michigan and Alabama, head coaches Jim Harbaugh and Nick Saban brought some festive flair to Disneyland’s Rose Bowl parade. Recent Platform X snapshots showcase the two coaches in a white carriage, drawn by a magnificent white horse, as they happily wave and smile during their procession through the streets. But their perilous proximity to a prominent Disney character has gotten the NFL fans worried.

The Disneyland Resort visit by Rose Bowl teams is a tradition dating back to 1955 when Michigan State and UCLA first visited. Over the years, Disneyland has hosted numerous Rose Bowl teams. The connection between Disneyland and the Tournament of Roses includes Walt Disney serving as Grand Marshal in 1966 and Mickey Mouse as Grand Marshal in 2005. However, it is the Mickey Mouse curse that has resulted in serious concern for NFL fans. A picture of two rival college football coaches, Jim Harbaugh and Nick Saban standing on either side of Mickey Mouse during Disneyland’s Rose Bowl parade has been doing its rounds on social media. Big Cat posted it with an attached caption, “Saban not going with the bro arm for Mickey has to cost Bama a point or two.”

Fans voiced their concern via multiple comments on platform X. One said, “Doesn’t want the Mickey curse. Smart man.” While another said in a humorous note, “Saban recognizes that’s Connor stallions in the mouse suit,” while another chimed in, “Saban is just trying to avoid the rat poison,” and another, “Don’t wanna get second hand rat poison from Mickey potentially.” Regardless of the concern of the curse, the annual Disneyland Rose Bowl parade was a spectacle worth a watch.
