The world of college football will be left with a void when Caleb Williams leaves for the NFL. Ever since the 22-year-old announced his decision to declare for the draft, the fans of the USC Trojans couldn’t have been sadder. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner steered the team to victory through the thick and thin and now will be bidding adieu.

Williams’ stats have been beyond impressive last season. In 2023, he threw out over 3,633 passing yards and completed a total of 30 touchdowns. With these numbers to his name, Williams is projected to be a number-1 pick in the incoming NFL draft. But while he will be banking on Kingsbury, the former OC for the Trojans, to bring him to Washington, Keyshawn Johnson puts forth an interesting reminder to the fans about his decision.

On the latest episode of the ‘Undisputed’ show, Keyshawn Johnson took to the stand and discussed the ongoing discourse regarding Caleb Williams’ situation. The former WR for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers delved deep into the young QB’s future and chimed in with a take that the fans couldn’t have anticipated.

Johnson said, “We don’t know if the Washington Commanders want Caleb Williams. We’re just speculating. We don’t know if Kliff Kingsbury want Caleb Williams. We have no idea at all whatsoever. It’s between now and the NFL draft. There’s so much evaluation that have to go on with all these quarterbacks.” Since Kingsbury is the new offensive coordinator for the Commanders, it is evident that a lot of the decision-making process relies on him and it will be exciting to see what he chooses to do, come the NFL draft. Moreover, Williams might not want to sign with the Chicago Bears according to Colin Cowherd.

Colin Cowherd reveals that Williams wouldn’t want to go to Chicago and would prefer the Commanders

As per this year’s NFL draft order, the Chicago Bears stand at the number 1 position, followed by the Washington Commanders. Since Williams is predicted to be a top pick, probably, the Browns might just want to sign the Heisman candidate. But on a recent episode of ‘The Herd’ podcast by Colin Cowherd, he revealed the intentions of Williams and how he would not prefer to move to Chicago.

Cowherd said, “I do not think it’s possible that Washington trades up and Chicago allows Washington to trade up because Caleb and his group do not want to go to Chicago.” But soon after these comments, Williams’ team contacted him and then he made another statement that ended up retracting the initial claims.

“I got a call from the Caleb Williams camp and they went, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Colin, we don’t want to be painted as anti-Chicago and we don’t want to be painted as anti-Bear,’” he said. “And they made it clear to me that they said, ‘Listen, we don’t want to go to a city that doesn’t care,” said Cowherd. Thus, as the draft is 80 days away on the clock, it is tough to predict where the quarterback will end up.
