Gattis refutes rumors, defends his reputation

Xavier Worthy shattered the NFL scouting combine’s 40-yard dash record, clocking in at 4.21 seconds. Since then, his past association with Michigan has sparked a frenzy online. Worthy tried to enroll at Michigan in the spring of 2021 as an early student after committing to Josh Gattis and the Wolverines. However, his high school wouldn’t allow early graduations. So, Worthy’s mother put him in an online program for fall 2020, seemingly working with Michigan to ensure he could enroll. At the last minute, something went wrong, and Worthy changed his plan, eventually going to Texas.

Many Michigan fans blamed Gattis, as rumors spread about his involvement with the family. Gattis has had enough of this, and he recently expressed his frustration on X, saying, “Not at all when you cross the line with malicious lies. Coaches we are Real people first with real families. We don’t do this to listen to lies of people who have intent to attack our character or integrity. If you have a problem with a response you are the problem.” Gattis shifted the blame for Worthy’s departure to the Michigan admissions department. However, fans remain skeptical. Nevertheless, the former Michigan coach didn’t stop there as he levied some serious accusations against his former team.
