Trevor Etienne leaves Florida with a potential commitment to Georgia

Imagine facing the wrath and disapproval of Florida fans after leaving the program to join their big rival who has an edge in almost everything! According to a recent report by On3 Sports Pete Nakos, Georgia is the favorite program to recruit Florida star RB Trevor Etienne. As he stated earlier, the top three teams he’s considering are Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia. It is common knowledge that Florida and Georgia meet together in their division rivalry game which was known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. In their last meeting on October 28 this season, the Bulldogs defeated the Gators 43-20. Per Georgia, they lead the rivalry series 56-44-2 with their last win marking their third straight victory over Florida.

Trevor Etienne – A leader in rushing touchdowns

Fans are distraught at the thought that their beloved RB is leaving Florida to join the 12-1 Georgia Bulldogs, who lead the SEC East. But in Etienne’s scenario, it’s not a case of “when you can’t beat them, join them.” He is already a star who completed this season with 753 yards and eight touchdowns.

In 2023, Trevor Etienne played 11 games with the Gators. He was Florida’s season star, completing 5.7 yards per carry and 68.4 yards per game in the 11 games he played. In 2022, he was named Freshman All-SEC after finishing the season with 719 yards and six touchdowns.

If Trevor Etienne’s commitment eventually comes down to Georgia, he might have to deal with criticism for a while as he tries to break into his new connection with the Bulldogs with whom he used to compete. But in the end, anyone can utilize their freedom of choice. So, whichever team Etienne lands in, he will hopefully shine with the same energy and talent.
