The big news coming out is that Alabama’s HC Nick Saban has retired from his coaching duties. This marks an end to a long, successful, and illustrious college coaching career. The greatest coach in college football history only bettered by Jim Harbaugh has decided to hang his boots. Following the HC’s retirement, there would be players who would look for different teams ahead of the 2024 season. Shedeur Sanders took the opportunity to cash in with his four-worded message on the platform X.

Colorado Buffaloes are on the lookout for equipped players to strengthen their side and the QB player shared the same emotion. The ongoing recruitment season has been a masterstroke for the Buffs as Deion Sanders has roped in the right set of players. Here’s what Shedeur Sanders had to say.

Shedeur Sanders, of all the Colorado players, knows the importance of their team looking to build a strong side. Therefore, he chipped in with a message with his recent X post. He wrote- “Alabama players tap n,” asking for the Crimson Tide’s sports athletes to sign up for the Buffs. It’s a clever call given that so many players would’ve loved to play under Saban’s mentorship. His retirement after three decades at the top would certainly cast a void in the sport.

The transfer portal is now open for another month as the HC’s role now remains vacant. Furthermore, it’ll mean that one of college football’s most loaded rosters can open the room for players to leave the side. This would hence create more transfer opportunities for Buffs to recruit four and five-star players. Deion Sanders has shown heavy reliance on the transfers to bring in talented players. While Colorado seeks new players, Alabama now has major concerns of its own regarding the role of head coach.

Who’s more likely to replace Nick Saban at Crimson Tide?

Nick Saban’s sudden retirement has made the off-season more interesting. Now as the Alabama side recovers from their last season’s playoff hiccups, they now need a new HC. The nationwide search would require massive boots to fill as Saban leaves after a 28-year successful run. Reportedly, there are a few candidates who are in line to become the team’s new HC. Dan Lanning is the first person who could replace Saban. The legendary coach himself wanted to work in cohesion with Lanning back in 2018 but fate had other plans.

Steve Sarkisian is the second favored person for the HC’s role. While it needs to be confirmed by the Texas’ HC, Sarkisian had a successful run as the team’s OC a few years ago. Mike Norvell could perhaps be another replacement, he’s not from the Saban school of thinking but has proved his mettle with the Seminoles side.

Alabama needs to make a big decision ahead of the 2024 season as they move on from the Nick Saban era.
