Despite heavy preparations, the Spring Football Day game didn’t go as expected for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. In the rainy backdrop of Folsom Field, the Buffs offense won the game 29-24. There were not many spectators, but American boxer Ryan Garcia graced the game to show support for the Buffs. Earlier, Coach Prime had extended an invitation to Garcia for the game after the fighter’s victory over Devin Haney on April 20.

Following the game, Ryan Garcia gave a surprise visit to Coach Prime’s office, sporting the Buffs uniform. Then he visited the locker room and was caught in a friendly bout with safety Shilo Sanders. That’s when Travis Hunter entered the scene. Shilo Sanders uploaded this playful moment on his Instagram and captioned the post, “King Ryan We gotta get you in some cleats with that footwork.”

In the video, you can watch that as soon as Garcia tried to start boxing with Shilo, Hunter rushed in to play security and saved Shilo while he pushed Garcia away from him. On-field brothers showcased their brotherhood off the field. The tight end shared this video on his Instagram story and wrote, “Always got my dawg back.” Though the team didn’t perform too well, they were enjoying some relaxing moments in the locker room. But Coach Prime’s other son acknowledged their readiness for the season.

Colorado went 4-8 in 2023 after a 3-1 start to the season. This is an improvement over the Buffs record (1-11) in 2022. QB Shedeur Sanders said, “I feel like we have some things that we have to clean up, but I feel like we’re in a way better place mentally and physically than last year.” Coach Prime echoed similar thoughts and expressed that the team is good enough to go to a bowl game this year, “We’re gonna get it.”

On the other hand, along with the frenzy this trio (Shilo, Shedeur, and Hunter) created on social media, the world is buzzing with the NFL draft right now. While many star players set their foot on the NFL landscape after being selected in the 2024 NFL draft, many like Hunter, Shedeur, and Shilo are aiming to be at the top of the upcoming 2025 NFL draft.

Travis Hunter, Shilo Sanders, and Shedeur Sanders aim for the 2025 NFL draft

Considering Hunter’s performance in the 2023 season, he is one of the top players for the Buffs. His performance in the upcoming season would decide his fate in the upcoming draft. In the previous season, Hunter lodged 721 yards, 57 receptions, and five touchdowns. Whereas, Shilo Sanders recorded 67 tackles, 1 interception, and 1 touchdown. Even QB Shedeur logged in some truly impressive numbers despite the team’s poor overall record.

This trio are top prospects for the Buffaloes, and the NFL franchises would aim to book their services. However, only time reveals what the future has in store for these promising players. Coach Prime has already revealed that he has big plans coming for them, making some think that he’s already chosen which teams they’ll go to in their draft appearance.

In an interview earlier this year, Deion Sanders said, “I know where I want them to go… So, it’s certain cities that ain’t gonna happen…” However, he did not reveal the names of the teams. He also predicted that Hunter and Shedeur could go as No.1 or not later than No.4.

The 2024 college season starts in August and the Buffaloes will be charged to show their promising performances at Gridiron. Meanwhile, let us know your thoughts on these players aiming for the 2025 NFL draft.
