Just because you’re a player and you sat out six games because of a back injury doesn’t mean a transfer is impending. Let’s take it from the Kansas Jayhawks QB Jalon Daniels, who addressed all the circulating rumors about his potential transfer from KU after his last game against the BYU Cougars on September 23.

But the good news for Kansas fans is that this season isn’t going to be the last we see Jalon Daniels at KU. He has recently taken to social media to assure his fans that they can expect him back on the field in 2024, stronger than ever.

But rumors are surfacing that he could be out of the college by the end of the regular season. He took to his Twitter to rectify the situation, saying, “I’m gonna be blunt. Despite playing only three games this season, Jalon Daniels has secured impressive stats. He finished three games with 705 yards and five TDs. Before the commencement of the 2023 regular season, he was named the Preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. His injury could lead him to a medical redshirt eligibility.

As for the No. 25 Kansas Jayhawks, the season has been gracious to them as they rank 6th in the Big 12 with 7-3. As Jalon Daniels sits out the game in recovery, the team prepares to face their in-state rival in their next game in Lawrence. Backup QB Jason Bean is also out after a head injury, and it’s not clear if he’ll return to the field for their next game or if third-string freshman Cole Ballard will take his place.

Up next, KU will face the 7-3 No. 23 Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday. Following this game, they’ll play their last season game against the 3-7 Cincinnati Bearcats on November 25. Jalon Daniel’s presence in the season games would have changed the outcome of the results. But we’ll have to wait until next year to see him rocking the field again.
