A full-swing preparation for the Colorado Buffaloes’ new players is going on. Finishing 21st in the 2023 overall recruiting rankings, Coach Prime is set to deliver the expectations of fans in 2024. An interesting mix of talented college football players come together to equip themselves as they head into the 2024 season. 

The gathering looks promising as Colorado Buffs Director of Player Personnel described. According to him, the Buffs are entering the 2024 season with a “different spirit and energy.” See what the new recruits have to say about themselves and what expectations they’ve brought with them to Colorado.

In a YouTube episode by Reach The People Media, the recruits are seen together working as a team. Some of the new players are introduced including IOL Tyler Johnson who credited his mind as his strength, stating “I know how to play mind games.” The 6’5 4-star Houston transfer said, “I’m a strong dude, I rely on my strength a lot but once that game get in, Imma outsmart you.”

Connecticut 3-star transfer IOL Yakiri Walker also introduced himself by crediting speed as his strength. The 6’3 UConn’s starting center played over 800 snaps last season. IOL Kahlil Benson who started all the 12 Hoosier games in 2023 admitted, “I’m hungry for everything.” Four-star DL Brandon Davis-Swain introduced himself as a starter this season.

High expectations placed on Colorado’s new players

Seeing the new players lineup as they hustle together, it’s not surprising that Colorado Buffs Director of Player Personnel Corey Phillips places his faith in the team. He proudly said, “It’s a different spirit and energy. That’s what happens when you recruit good kids. The care factor is different. Look at them. They care about each other. That’s the first sign of winning. They’ll polish each other.”

Colorado also made changes to the coaching roles. For the 2024 season, Pat Shurmur will serve as the offensive coordinator while Jason Phillips and Brett Bartolone will coach wide receivers and tight ends, respectively. It looks like Coach Prime’s Buffs are on to a fresh promising start with eager players teeming with excitement over the upcoming season.
