The NCAA competition is heading into the final few weeks. While there’s nothing wrong with teams taking potshots at each other in a sporting manner, one of the players has taken the verbal volleys a notch higher with his recent remarks. Days out from the clash between No.7 ranked Texas Longhorns and Iowa State, the latter side has thrown shade at their counterparts.

Jarrod Hufford didn’t shy away from calling the opposition out as he faced the media days before their matchup. The words chosen by the young offensive lineman haven’t gone down with the best intentions as rivalry sparks fly close! In other circumstances, the banter would’ve been with great intentions to add spice to the game but not so now. Texas is in the purple patch and has lost just one game. The audacious remarks and sledding might come back to haunt Iowa State.

Jarrod Hufford’s bold claims for Texas Longhorns

There’s something about the offensive players and them taking the mickey out of their opposition. Continuing the tradition, Iowa’s offensive lineman Jarrod Hufford made some bold claims for Texas Longhorns. He remarked- “It’s going to be one heck of a farewell present, they are going to come in here on a senior night in the dark. I don’t think they really know what is going to be coming for them. We’ve beaten them 4 out of the last 5 times at home. They don’t have a good record here.”

The claims were regarding the Texas Longhorns as they are in the middle of a farewell tour for the Big 12. Exciting times lie ahead for the team as they surge ahead for the College Football Playoff. He elaborated on how much hype the team gets during the NCAA weeks. “Ever since I got here, it was Iowa and Texas, The ‘Horns Down’ all the time. That program, much like Oklahoma, gets all the 5-star recruits and has all the nicest stuff in the world and they just think they don’t stink. They’re just humans and that’s how I see them. They’re people that have such a high ego that need to be checked.” Well, the youngster didn’t hold back, hopefully, he can back his words with action when the teams collide against each other.

How does the Texas team fare going into the matchup?

The fiery matchup between Iowa and Texas promises a lot for the viewers. However, there are certain injuries to the Texas offense. While they have an offense that any side would love to have, the loss of Jonathon Brooks would be a deciding factor. Moreover, Iowa has a huge advantage in this being a home game.

The team is playing for a national championship match and ultimately the loss of the Big 12 title. The missing piece on the offense would be a crucial factor given that they relied on their offenses to win most of the matches. This will be a great match and the added ire of Hufford has definitely added sting to the clash!

"If at night you see your team losing or you wake up with the news of your team winning. Words will always be there sharing your emotions through thick and thin!" I've always had a strong connection with words. They've given me the passage to express my emotions from starting as a 7th grader writing poems in school to now writing articles based around leaders like Deion Sanders. My association and vocabulary with words have grown tremendously. Joining ES as an NFL and NCAA-focused writer has provided me with terrific opportunities. It has helped me understand the mindset of the GOAT Tom Brady, learn how Patrick Mahomes is writing his legacy, and watch Kirk Cousins push himself year after year. I resonate with the QBs- their aura, gameplay, and just the toughness to get hit and keep rising! Apart from writing, I love writing poetry and fine-tuning my muscles in a bid to get the perfect QB physique! - Jyot Singh Bindra, NFL author at ES.
