The 2024 NFL Draft has brought in a bunch of new names to the limelight and Joe Alt is among them. While he might not have been a star recruit out of high school, he proved himself at Notre Dame. The offensive tackle played in every game as a freshman and even earned the starting spot as the team’s left tackle. His hard work paid off big time — he got his All-American honors and almost won the best offensive lineman award (Outland Trophy finalist).

This covetable college career not only made Alt a draft favorite but also opened doors for him to capitalize on his rising stardom through NIL deals.  He’s a prime example of how talented student-athletes can now benefit financially from their success on the field.

Joe Alt’s performance at Notre Dame made him noticeable in the NIL market. This led to a deal with Mission BBQ, joining several other Irish offensive line players in partnering with the restaurant. He also endorsed for Mimmo’s Pizza and Jet’s Pizza. Now adding to his food partnerships, he is promoting Chipotle on his Instagram just before the draft day. While showing off his favorite burrito order he also sparks interest in how much he was paid for the deal.

Alt’s NIL efforts extend beyond food, too. He participates in NextGen Camps, mentoring young athletes at football camps. While the exact amounts of his NIL deals are private, these partnerships clearly contribute to his impressive NIL valuation.

This gives him a total annual value of $746K, ranking him 68th within the top 100 NIL valuations across all college sports.  Likewise, he’s ranked 47th in college football alone. While the On3 NIL Valuation doesn’t track exact earnings, it’s a strong indicator of an athlete’s marketability and Alt is clearly on the rise. Now with the draft approaching, Alt’s NIL value is expected to skyrocket even more. 

When Joe Alt joined Notre Dame, his Instagram following was a modest 3,000.  However, his impressive performance and potential high draft pick have boosted his popularity to a whopping 16.5K followers.  Landing a top draft spot with a big team like the Tennessee Titans would further explode his fanbase. Now, more followers mean greater brand appeal for the athlete. This will further open doors to lucrative NIL deals and the potential for earning in the millions for the offensive tackle.
