“Kid Has a Sunday Leg”: Despite Caleb Williams’ Bold Text Claims Minimal Punting, Punter Tory Taylor’s Selection Validates Bears’ Decision

It seems like the Chicago Bears drafted Punter Tory Taylor is being hailed by the NFL world. After Caleb Williams’ message to his teammate Tailor about minimum punting, the young punter received support from an ESPN NFL journalist. Hyped Caleb Williams finally found his new home in the NFL. The Bears’ first-round pick allowed them to strengthen their offensive line by adding Caleb Williams to it. However, the Bears didn’t stop there. 

Bears drafted the young punter Tory Taylor in the fourth round as the 122nd ovеrall pick. Taylor played football at Iowa University and quickly attained the title of one of the best punters in the collegiate football landscape. However, the Bears’ decision to draft Taylor was put into doubt, but there’s a twist in the story.

After Taylor was selected by the Bears, Williams messaged him, saying, “Hey, you’re not gonna punt too much here.” But a May 1st  video uploaded YouTube video on Waddle & Silvy’s channel featuring ESPN journalist Michael Wilbon highlights the strength Taylor can provide to the Bears’ offense.

Hailing Taylor, Wilbon stated, “We watched this kid for Iowa just float 60-yard punts in the air once again in Ridley, not in some stupid dome in Ridley field, and we watched him do this at Wisconsin. We watched him do this at you know at Iowa with the wind swirling cold rain clouds and this kid is kicking the ball.” He further added, “My God this kid has a Sunday leg he has a Sunday leg look at this kid.”

Now, as the Bears’ decision is validated, and the Bears are geared to hit the gridiron with their promising roster, the anticipation is around Williams and Taylor’s contribution to the team.

Taylor averaged 48.2 yards in the 2023 season. Moreover, he was awarded the Ray Guy Award, tagging him as the nation’s best punter. His career-long punt is a whopping 70 yards, which came in the 2022 season. However, the young quarterback scored 3333 yards with 31 passing and 11 rushing touchdowns. Williams’ agility and strong throws will be a proving point for the Bears.

As the dust settles around the NFL draft, the teams are aiming for the upcoming 2025 NFL season. The Bears are all equipped to enter the gridiron and revive themselves from a disappointing 2023 season. In the previous season, the Bears were the table bottomers in the NFC North division.
