Where are Deion Sanders’ “fans” now?

As Dan Patrick pointed out in his show, Coach Prime stole the attention of even popular figures and celebrities with his impressive start. But as the Buffs fall in consecutive defeats and fail to make it to the bowl, Dan Patrick calls out his past supporters saying, “I don’t know where everybody is now. If I’m Deion, I’d say to my celebrity friends, ‘Now’s when I want you to come out and support.’”

Through five games into the season, Deion Sanders received high praise from LeBron James who sees the Colorado head coach as a source of inspiration. Crediting Coach Prime for Colorado’s new-found success, the basketball legend said, “It’s a lot because of him and what he’s instilled in those players, what he’s instilled in those young men to be greater than just football players. I think that’s just the ultimate leader… Much respect to Deion and the rest of that program.

Such was the support and appreciation that Coach Prime enjoyed during his honeymoon phase. But things have taken a different turn now that they’re stuck at the bottom of the Pac-12. Dan Patrick further added, “I don’t hear any of the Stephen A Smith or Keyshawn. Nobody’s going out to Colorado. Now’s when Deion needs you although their season is over.”

Deion Sanders became an overnight sensation when he first came to Colorado and led them to a 3-0 start after they suffered 1-11 last season. Despite their unimpressive season record, Coach Prime’s impact on Colorado remains. Don’t you think he deserves the same type of support that he received at the height of the season?
