Deion Sanders’ heartfelt interaction with his hero Julius Erving

For a man who’s usually a hero to everyone else, it was sure an extraordinary sight to witness him fanboying over his hero. This was the scene as an emotional Deion hugged Julius ‘Dr’ Erving, the Philadelphia 76ers HOF. Deion couldn’t stop talking about the famous Dr. J as he paid heed to each word of appreciation that flew from his mouth, saying, “You have no idea what you meant to my life, man. I know you’ve heard it a lot before. I mean the suave, the dress code, the shoes all that. It’s rare that a person gets the opportunity in his elder age to sit down with a person who was one of his heroes.”

2 months ago, the legendary Hall of Famer Julius Erving came to town for a Buffs’ game. While the fans were ecstatic to witness the Doctor, it later seemed as if no one cared about the legend as much as Coach Prime did. The Colorado coach has always been a strong advocate for the message of never giving up and never bowing down. Upon meeting Erving, Deion went against his own words and bowed humbly in front of the 76ers’ legend.
