Last season, Coach Prime was able to entice five Florida State players to Colorado. But now, only two remain out of three when DT Bishop Thomas made the latest Buff player to hit the portal after his fellow Seminoles teammates DE Derrick McLendon left for the NFL and DB Omarion Cooper chose the portal. He was dismissed from Colorado in February for violating a team rule in 2023.

Bishop Thomas reveals what Georgia State can get out of him

I expect the best and I want you to get that out of me too.” He also expressed how he follows this rule off-field of helping him out when he’s down because he’s gonna help them too. Then he showed his preparedness saying, “I feel like nobody better than me. So now it’s time for me to show that.”

Bishop Thomas, who played nine seasons for Coach Prime at Colorado in 2023, also showed a charming self-consciousness trait as he said, “It’s really proving it to myself. Cause if I can’t prove it to myself, I can’t prove it to nobody.” The 6’2, 305-pound former Buffs DL totaled six tackles, two TFLs, and a fumble recovery last season in Boulder. After his reasons, would his presence at Georgia State make a difference with all the ties there?

The former FSU player may be moving under a new HC with Dell McGee, but the coaching staff is filled with Seminoles ties. Thomas will join OL coach Manrey Saint-Amour, DB coach Jeremiah Wilson, and WR coach Dameyune Craig who all had former ties with Florida State. The familiarity might help the 2022 FSU’s Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year in breaking into his new college.

Thomas’ new program will mark the third one in three years to begin his college career. He brings three seasons of eligibility to Georgia State. Georgia State’s last season’s record is 7-6. Thomas would be a great addition in buffing their defense and giving more power to the teammates. As for Colorado, the other two Seminoles remaining there with Coach Prime are DB Travis Jay and DB Brendan Gant.
