With one coming in, one is going out! After all, that’s what to expect during this transfer season as the Colorado Buffaloes wished one of their own a successful NFL journey. To lose one of the Buffs’ standout players who shone alongside Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter is a major loss for Coach Prime. But Xavier Weaver is leaving after the Buffs found his potential replacement in another elite 4-star WR. So the Buffs may still be in good hands.

Colorado WR pro Xavier Weaver declares for the 2024 NFL Draft

The most recent departure from Coach Prime and the Buffs came from their star WR Xavier Weaver who “has declared for the 2024 NFL draft.” Barstool Colorado tweeted the news as they saluted the star player to send him off to the next level with their best regards. Weaver may have a possible replacement in place, but the Buffs are truly going to miss his presence in Boulder.

Just like his former HC Deion Sanders, Weaver exuded confidence when he joined Coach Prime in February via the transfer portal. He said, “I feel like this is a big chance for all of us. We’re all going to throw up 1,000 yards.” This is what Deion Sanders said of Weaver, “Xavier is a dawg. He is a go-getter. He wants that ball. He high-points it and he can get deep. He is great off the jam. Great run out of the catch. He is really a return man as well. The kid loves the game of football.” So is the 23-year-old’s replacement going to live up to his standards at Colorado?

LaMason Waller III is a highly potential Xavier Weaver’s replacement

Xavier Weaver is leaving Colorado behind after leaving memories behind in the form of his speed, good catch timings, and ability to run several routes. In 2023, he finished with 68 receptions, 908 yards, and four touchdowns. And now all eyes are on his probable replacement – All-State WR LaMason Waller III who said, “I’ve been to Colorado before for a game but this was my first time seeing them play with the new staff in place. I was able to spend a lot of time with coach (Brett) Bartolone (WR coach) and it was an amazing experience.”

The 2x Maxpreps All-American 4-star player visited Coach Prime and the Buffs about seven times making it very likely that he’ll commit to Colorado. The Hesperia native is a former Sultana two-way player who recorded 64 catches, 1,057 yards, 15 TDs, 36 tackles, and two interceptions in his sophomore season. In his junior year, he accounted for 62 receptions, 1,151 yards, and 15 TDs. Stats speak volumes, don’t they? LaMason Waller III will announce his decision in March.
