Michigan Wolverines’ Zak Zinter suffered a brutal leg injury and was booted off the field during their Ohio clash last night. The Wolverines scored their third victory in a row over the Ohio State Buckeyes. However, the side’s offensive lineman suffered a massive blow to his leg that could lead to massive repercussions.

It’s always alarming when a potent offensive player gets a big injury during the crucial periods. The same transpired with Michigan’s player and it might even cast a spell over his availability for the playoff matches. Moreover, the extent of the injury reflects a serious impairment since the player was immediately taken to the hospital.

Michigan Wolverines suffer a late hit with their OL’s injury

Zak Zinter is in some fine form going into the last set of matches. One of the main architects of Michigan’s victory, however, met with a tragic ending in the recent fixture. During the third quarter of the play, Zinter’s leg apparently rolled badly during a pass block. The next few moments saw the offensive lineback player being booted off the field. His mother took to platform X to highlight the broken tibia and fibula that her son suffered. She pleaded with all fans to “pray for Zak’s surgeons” for quick recovery.

Zinter looked in searing pain and agony as he left the turf. He underwent surgery as pointed out by the player’s mother but he’ll be in some form of rehab prior to the next game. It’ll be a few hours, even days of anticipation and prayers as the fans would want their beloved OL to be back on the field. There might be some hope as the interim coach reckons that the player might recover soon!

Interim coach Sherrone Moore seems confident about quick Zak Zinter’s comeback

While the injury looks gruesome, to say the least, it might not be the case as per the interim coach. Ever since the Wolverines’ regular coach Jim Harbaugh got suspended, the interim coach has led well in the time period. Moore who’s in constant conversation with Zinter’s mother revealed that there’s some positivity regarding the player’s injury.

Moore highlighted that there’s some good news as far as recovery is concerned and the player would be back on his feet in no time. The coach was also optimistic about the player getting back to the side down the road and it’ll be great to have their talisman during the important playoff matches.

Here’s hoping that Zak Zinter undergoes the successful surgery and gets back to doing what he does best on the field.
