Richard Sherman’s DUI arrest has created concern in the NFL world. Sherman was taken into police custody early Saturday morning in the Seattle area. Dov Kleiman has posted on Twitter: “Richard Sherman was arrested for DUI on Saturday, reports @fox13seattle, No further details will be released until the prosecutors make an official filing.” As of now, the King County Prosecutor’s Office has not indicated any pending charges. This arrest is among the legal issues Sherman has encountered recently, giving rise to speculation about the potential impact on his career’s trajectory.

The arrest began with an alleged speeding violation on Interstate 405, where he was traveling at 79 mph in a 60 mph zone. It is reported that State Patrol officers stopped him just north of Northeast 44th Street in Renton, around 2 a.m. Sherman reportedly admitted to consuming two margaritas but declined a breathalyzer test, opting instead for voluntary sobriety tests. The officers, observing signs of impairment, decided to arrest him. Sherman’s representative and a previous legal representative have been contacted for comment, but no response has been received. On Monday, Sherman is scheduled to appear in court in association with this arrest. However, this isn’t his first run-in with the law. His other one dates back to 2021.
