“We’re going to win.” This is what Deion Sanders had to say about the upcoming 2024 season. Considering this, you would think that, with an almost revamped team, the Colorado Buffaloes are ready to leave their 2022 and 2023 woes behind. However, a snippet from their last day of training before Spring Break may have indicated that things haven’t changed all this much this year.

The Colorado Buffaloes ended their 2022 season with a dismal 1-11 record. And that’s when Sanders stepped in, hoping to become that differentiating factor. The beginning was sweet. But while the Buffs enjoyed a fruitful 3-0 start, things eventually went awry, and the 2023 season ended with a 4-8 record. But Coach Prime has learned from his first season and doesn’t want to repeat his mistakes.

In a video that Well Off Media recently uploaded, tempers were rising on the field, and Deion Sanders didn’t look like he was having the best day. After one of the Buffs’ practice plays, Coach Prime yelled at his players for not getting the game right despite their practice in the offseason. He shouted angrily, When are we going to stop this bulls**t? I’m seeing the same junk as last year.” Sanders’ fiery emotions took center stage as he reprimanded his players, who held no accountability until they were asked.

Despite his constant preaching, it took for him to demand whose fault it was for them to assume any responsibility. Coach Prime screamed, “Everybody wants to be the man, but ain’t nobody cashing in with it. Whose fault was that?!” When one of them took the fall, Sanders continued, “[Saying] ‘my bad’ don’t get it around here. We’re better than this.” The final day of practice was rough for the head coach and his team, as this wasn’t Sanders’ only outburst.

Earlier in the session, after another one of their plays, Coach Prime pointed at one of the players and yelled, You don’t know what to do. Yes, you! Do you know what to do or not? Do you know your responsibility? What did I tell you?!All this came after Colorado Buffaloes women’s soccer team members joined their briefing to establish the importance of accountability and responsibility.

While the head coach’s reaction during practice was quite stern, it was necessary. After his first season with the Buffs not going entirely according to plan, the negativity and criticism that followed isn’t something Coach Prime is willing to experience again. And that’s why…

Changing the destiny of the Buffs is what Deion Sanders is working toward

Deion Sanders and the Buffs may not have experienced the end they wished for last season. But the HC is full of confidence because maybe the Buffs can emerge from their trenches to surprise everyone and silence critics. Heading into the new season, Coach Prime said, “We pretty much put a mark in college football and what we’re going to do from here on, it will never be the same.” All eyes will be on his team after his bold promise.

As for their field records, the team needs a lot of improvement to shine this year. Heading into this season, the Buffaloes will have a completely refurbished offensive line, along with NFL pros like Pat Shurmur, Jason Phillips, and Phil Loadholt, in their coaching staff. With such a stacked locker and coaching room, the Buffs are expecting to put on a great performance when they open their regular season on September 21 against Baylor at Folsom Field.

Who knows? Maybe Deion Sanders’ “we’re going to win” claim from earlier this week might just come true. But for that to happen, they can’t continue the “same junk” from last season.
