Shilo Sanders, the favorite son of Deion Sanders has finally revealed what it’s like to have Coach Prime as a father. It comes with no argument that a legend of a father would want their kids to be as great as themselves and the former NFL and MLB legend feels no different. Coach Prime is making sure his kids are taught well!

For most of this season, Shilo Sanders has been on top of the Sanders kids’ ladder as Coach Prime’s favorite. Obviously, he’s more disciplined and dependable than his younger brother Shedeur Sanders whom Deion Sanders has rebuked multiple times. See what the father-son duo has to say about each other. 

Shilo Sanders reveals how Coach Prime is at home

Most of Coach Prime’s kids would describe their father in a similar light that Shilo Sanders did on the latest episode of the Coach Prime Season 2 docuseries. The 23-year-old revealed how Coach Prime on the field and Deion Sanders at home are still similar stating, “He’s always Coach Prime. He’s always coaching off the field, coaching at home, coaching on the phone when he calls me at night. But that’s just him. He just wants us to be great. And we understand that. It is what it is.” 

Deion Sanders maintains an indifferent attitude towards his sons when it comes to succeeding with their own efforts. For Coach Prime, everything has to be earned, not handed down by the family name. As a former NFL cornerback with two SB wins and the prestigious title of NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1994, there must be a lot that Deion Sanders wants his kids to learn. So we can’t blame his home and phone coaching!

Why is Shilo Sanders Coach Prime’s favorite son?

Deion Sanders also dropped the reasons why Shilo Sanders is his usual favorite kid in the latest release. His middle son won his father’s attention not just in one way, but in several ways. He said, “Shilo is my prodigal son. He’s that one kid that keeps you on your knees and makes sure you have a relationship with the Lord. Because you got to pray for him and he’s gonna make sure you pray.” It’s no wonder Coach Prime thinks “he’s the ‘Prime’ side of me.”

Coach Prime proudly said of his safety son, “He’s not just on the field because his last name is Sanders. He’s on the field because he can flat out ball.” Shilo Sanders can be a beast on the field as is seen in that particular game against the Colorado State Rams in Week 3. His spectacular 80-yard pick can give fans a glance of what he’s capable of on the field.
