Every kid inherits one or the other trait from a parent, good or bad. And if Coach Prime’s kids were to take after him in every way, they would’ve been explosive athletes playing not just football but other sports. But what can we say? Not everyone is lucky enough to inherit all the best traits from one parent.

Shilo Sanders recently became the laughingstock of Coach Prime and his coaching staff because of his poor dunking skills. This paved the way for Deion Sanders to cast shades on his ex-wife, Pilar Sanders. He attributed his sons’ lack of basketball skills to her and shot another hilarious trait they take after their mother.

Deion Sanders fires a brutal shot at Pilar Sanders for Shilo Sanders’ basketball incompetence

During a playful banter captured by Well Off Media, Shilo Sanders and Coach Prime engaged in a light-hearted exchange following the 24-year-old’s less-than-stellar dunking skills. Shilo jokingly blamed his father for his basketball shortcomings, “That’s your fault!” Deion Sanders responded in a relaxed tone, “Y’all don’t have that explosion.” When his son inquired further, he quipped, “I have no idea. You took it from the other side.” Coach Prime added to the humor, saying, “There’s some explosion on the other side. To the mall, credit cards.”

While Deion Sanders’ playful jabs at his ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, may seem to be the reason for their sons’ basketball struggles, Shilo Sanders believes his lackluster dunking abilities are a result of his father’s choices. It’s worth noting that both Shilo and Shedeur Sanders, as confirmed by Deion Sanders himself, take after their mother. Shedeur, a quarterback, may be explosive on the football field, but he’s yet to master the art of dunking. In contrast, Coach Prime was not just a two-sport player in football and baseball but also came close to joining the NBA Atlanta Hawks, showcasing his versatility. Despite their separation, the couple still shares a mutual pride in their children’s athletic endeavors.

Coach Prime and Pilar Sanders, despite their divorce in 2013, continue to share a deep pride in their three children — Shilo Sanders, Shedeur Sanders, and Shelomi Sanders. This was evident from Pilar Sanders’ presence at her sons’ game, where she expressed her admiration on Instagram, saying, “Started ’em all young. You can tell by my guns.”

Meanwhile, Coach Prime took a similar approach in priding himself on Shedeur Sanders’ performance. In his post-game press conference, he said of his QB son, “We had some guys that singled themselves out with their playing and their playing ability. A lot of guys you doubted – one of them from an HBCU – I think he had 510 yards passing in a Power 5 football game. And he happens to be my son, and I’m proud of him, tremendously.” Despite casual trolls and roasts on his sons, it’s clear that there’s no one more proud of them than their father, who’s also their head coach.
