Under Deion Sanders, the CU program has changed quite a lot. From recruiting top-tier talents like Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn Jr to opening up a women’s clinic on the campus. Ever since taking the mantle of HC, Deion has leveraged his amazing marketing ability to make the Buffs one of the most relatable and watchable programs in the college football landscape.

Now imagine this; you have achieved all of this but one glaring issue that keeps coming back to bite you is parking problems. Even Coach Prime’s oldest son shared his opinion regarding this.

Deion Sanders Jr raises some concerns

Deion Sanders Jr. took to his Instagram stories to mention his frustrations regarding the ongoing parking issues in Colorado. “Y’all closed this entire garage? it’s like 200-300 parking spots,” he mentioned while driving his car down the street in front of the parking spots. Sanders Jr, also known as Bucky, was quite annoyed with the entire scene. Point down to a different filled parking spot in his story, he remarked, “you want the people on the team, to park down here? and there? where you can see every car is full. Every car in that lot is full.” Colorado being one of the top camps in NCAA and still having such issues is astounding. “this is y’all mistake. y’all can’t boot people’s cars,” Bucky said in his story. Any sane person would be mad at this mismanagement.

Even back in November 2023, Travis Hunter had raised some concerns regarding the parking issues at the program. “I’m tirеd of paying for parking. Can somеbody hеlp mе? Pay еight dollars for two hours. How is that еvеn possiblе?” Hunter had mentioned this in a video uploaded to Well Off Media. The entire issue began for Hunter when he started getting multiple parking tickets for his Dodge. This brings us to the question; Shouldn’t CU prepare a better initiative for the players in the program so that they don’t face issues like these?

Any initiative taken?

The university’s current parking and transportation services system is detailed on its official site. It states that parking permits are required for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors, with specific lots allocated based on various eligibility criteria. However, these measures have not effectively addressed the needs of the football team. Reports suggest that the university is considering expanding parking facilities and better allocating existing spaces, but these plans are still in the preliminary stages and have not yet been executed.

Moreover, the Buff Club, which handles donor parking for football games, has specific guidelines based on annual giving levels. This system does not guarantee parking passes and adds another layer of complexity to the parking situation, especially during high-demand events and game days. With the 2024 season knocking at the door, fans can only hope CU manages to sort out this mess.
