Though he had the best odds before the Washington game, it seems as if his dreams of the trophy might be shattered.

The USC Trojans faced off against the Washington Huskies on 5th October, 2023. The match was the Trojans’ 10th game of their season and they were expected to dominate the match. The match saw one of the poorest performances by the Trojans’ defensive side and thus, paved the way for a heartbreaking loss. While the team gave a good enough fightback, it wasn’t enough to keep the Huskies at bay. The match ended at a score of 52-42 and Williams couldn’t help but let his emotions take over.

Caleb Williams has been the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy odds, but Michael Penix Jr., the quarterback for the Huskies, was right behind him in second position. This means that after tonight’s performance, Williams might tragically lose the race to Penix and thus, justifies him weeping alongside his family as they try to console him.

How has the Trojans’ season with Williams been so far?

The Trojans have played a total of over 10 games and won 7 of them. Thus, with a 7-3 record, they are one of the favorites to go all the way this season. With Caleb Williams on the team, it’s almost going to be smooth sailing for the team as the league nears the finals.
