The Colorado Buffaloes had a redemption season of sorts this year. Under the inspiring leadership of Deion Sanders, the team managed 4 wins in their recently concluded season, which was a marginal improvement over last year. However, there lies a certain negative aspect to the all good things taking place in Boulder.

While Coach Prime continues to draw praise for his coaching and the significant change he brought about in the Buffaloes, there’s a certain blemish that plagues the NCAA side. Colorado continues to lose out on important support staff and recruits during the off-season. Since finishing their regular season on November 25, as many as three staff personnel have left their roles. What’s more to follow, a complete makeover of the proceedings, or will Deion Sanders step in to justify the actions?

Reportedly, even assistant coach Nick Williams is looking to move on to a different team now. However, the concerns grow for Sanders and the ever-dwindling management. Williams might become the third support staff member to call it quits after the 2023 NCAA season. This demands a question- is everything alright within the Colroado’s camp? Why the sudden back-to-back walkouts?

Thus far few players have ended their contracts and decommitted from the Buffaloes. Left tackle Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan, center Van Wells, linebacker Marvin Ham II, and tight end Caleb Fauria have decided to hit the transfer portal. These are blaring signs for the already hapless side and was found wanting in the second half of the season.

Problems are plenty for Deion Sanders going forward and a challenge to absorb talented individuals who share his foresight and vision for the team. It remains to be seen if Sanders can salvage this situation at all and safeguard his team’s future. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

"If at night you see your team losing or you wake up with the news of your team winning. Words will always be there sharing your emotions through thick and thin!" I've always had a strong connection with words. They've given me the passage to express my emotions from starting as a 7th grader writing poems in school to now writing articles based around leaders like Deion Sanders. My association and vocabulary with words have grown tremendously. Joining ES as an NFL and NCAA-focused writer has provided me with terrific opportunities. It has helped me understand the mindset of the GOAT Tom Brady, learn how Patrick Mahomes is writing his legacy, and watch Kirk Cousins push himself year after year. I resonate with the QBs- their aura, gameplay, and just the toughness to get hit and keep rising! Apart from writing, I love writing poetry and fine-tuning my muscles in a bid to get the perfect QB physique! - Jyot Singh Bindra, NFL author at ES.
