In an interview with Rivals national recruiting analyst, Adam Friedman, Amaris William, revealing the reason for his flipped of commitment, said “I felt the peace in my heart, being that I can be myself around these people. ” Along with that, Williams mentioned his relation with the JG, the defensive line coach of Auburn, and connecting with the coach he said, “He grew up the same way I grew up, had the same past, childhood“. Williams’ football journey from Clinton to Auburn

Beginning at Clinton High School, Williams embarked on a journey to become a formidable and skilled defensive line prospect. He recorded 679 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns according to MaxPreps. Along with that, he was a state finalist in the shot put and a basketball letterman, which also helped this defensive lineman to uplift his skill defense.  

On December 20, 2023, Williams signed the letter of intent to Auburn Tigers and enrolled his name on January 8, 2024. During his commitment to Auburn, he had several offers from major football teams, including NC State, UNC, Louisville, USC, Tennessee, West Virginia, and more.
