Wilson talks about how he was raised with discipline and sacrifice. He also talks about how he had to work harder than people his age to live his dreams today.

Reflecting on his upbringing, Roman recalls, “My dad made me and my siblings work very hard. It was intense, but looking back, I realize it was all for our benefit.” Both of his parents have solid athletic backgrounds. This also served as a beacon for him to push himself and have a solid mental spirit. His mother was a Division 1 athlete in track events, while his father was known as a strong boxer in their college days. “My parents’ dedication to pushing us to excel in our pursuits was unwavering,” Roman acknowledges. His early exposure taught him the importance of hard work and a spirit to always grow better by his father.

He also opened up on his daily commute to school when, for a brief period in his childhood, he had to fly to school every day, as his father worked with an airline company back then. Looking back on the experience, he recalls, “Flying to school every day was exhausting, but it taught me the value of discipline and gratitude.

As Roman embarks on an entirely new journey with the draft approaching. He carries lessons learned from his childhood and is a developing star player of the Wolverines. Emphasizing his values, he said, “Sacrifice and hard work were the pillars of my upbringing.
