Hailing from Fairmont, West Virginia, Zach Frazier emerges as a multi-talented athlete with a family background steeped rich in sports. With a remarkable 4.5 GPA in high school, Frazier excelled both academically and athletically. At Fairmont Senior High School, he was honored with the All-Class AA honors in football, leading his team to three class championships and setting a record with 54 starts. Not only that, he shone equally bright at wrestling, where he secured four consecutive heavyweight state championships with a remarkable 159–2 record.

Despite starting as a true freshman because of injury, Frazier continued his success as he transitioned to West Virginia University. He quickly became the starting center and was awarded the first-team Freshman All-American and Big 12 Academic All-Rookie team honors. In 2021, Frazier’s leadership on the offensive line earned him second-team All-Big 12 and second-team All-American recognition, alongside maintaining academic excellence as a first-team Academic All-Big 12 recipient. His familial heritage sets the stage for a narrative of sporting excellence, with his father, Ray having made his mark on the gridiron as an offensive lineman for Fairmont State. 

On his mother’s side, the spirit of competition runs deep, with a legacy of wrestling champions. Frazier’s uncles—Chris, Ryan, and Jeff—have etched their names in the annals of the sport, boasting a collective total of five state titles spanning the years 1993 to 2002. Further enriching this lineage, his grandfather, Don Courtney, clinched the coveted 175-pound title in 1970, adding to the family’s storied history of athletic achievement. Zach seems to follow suit, showcasing exceptional skills both on the field and in the ring. His remarkable achievements have rightfully transpired him into one of the most sought-after athletes in the 2024 Draft season.
