After putting old blood to rest, Coach Prime and Nike rejoined forces in 2023 after separating in the early 2000s. As Deion Sanders gained traction online as the new HC for the Colorado Buffaloes, Nike was able to capitalize on the flow by re-signing him. And since then, the parties have consistently teased fans with their upcoming Coach Prime retro shoes including the Nike Air DT Max 96. 

“Prime shows take you prime place,” Deion Sanders wrote in one of his IG posts showcasing the returning shoes for the excited fans waiting in anticipation for its release. The Prime Time Nike Air DT Max 96 is back with the “torn-up” upper. Ahead of its release in June, Coach Prime gives fans a peek into another enticing feature that Nike honored him with. 

Nike immortalizes Coach Prime in Nike Air DT Max 96

Nike just gave one big reason for Coach Prime to brag about as he said, “Who else in history got they picture in a shoe?” The famous Nike Air DT Max ‘96 shoes come back with a revamped one-of-a-kind style leaving fans mesmerized. It features Deion Sanders’ photo crystallized deep on its heel. 

The Nike Air DT Max ‘96 is coming back with the old black and white designs and tails of gold. This highly-beloved sneaker has a release date set for June 14 via Nike SNKRS. Fans can also get them in some select stores at a base price of $170. But that date isn’t the only important number that Coach Prime should mark on his calendar. 

Coach Prime gets an important task

After suffering 4-8 in the Pac-12 last season, Coach Prime and the Buffs are moving on to the Big 12 with high hopes resonating amongst the fans and coaches alike. The Buffs AD Rick George is hopeful in Coach Prime and his players like Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. And he already has the expectations set for Colorado. 

During a speech to the Buffs football team this week, George laid emphasis on the date December 7, 2024, the day of the 2024 Big 12 championship game which will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. He expects Coach Prime and the Buffs to be there as one of the two best teams in the conference.
