Darius Sanders was born in 1983 to Robert and Shavone Sanders. He shifted to football after initially playing basketball at high school. He joined Oregon in 2002 and remained there till 2006, but did not feature in any game as a freshman. In 2006, he remained undrafted at the NFL but later joined the San Francisco 49ers as a free agent and was later released in the year 2007.
