Kalen DeBoer meets Nicole

Nicole and Kalen DeBoer’s love story began in the summer of 2000, when Kalen served as an offensive coordinator at the University of Sioux Falls. Their connection was immediate, described by both as love at first sight. The pair quickly fell deeply for each other, culminating in their marriage just a year later.

On December 29, 2001, Kalen DeBoer and Nicole Tendler exchanged vows at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, with Reverend Don Lehmann presiding over the ceremony. Their union was celebrated and announced in the wedding column of The Daily Argus-Leader, marking the start of their journey together as husband and wife. Kalen and Nicole DeBoer are the proud parents of two daughters: Avery and Alexis.

While Avery enjoys horseback riding, Alexis, who previously excelled in softball at Bellevue High, decided to follow her father’s path and join the University of Washington in November 2023. With Alexis now joining her father at the University of Washington, the DeBoer family eagerly anticipates the journey ahead.
