On Sunday, CFP announced four of the contenders for the playoffs: Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Alabama. But curiously, Florida State was left out despite being undefeated, the main reason being star QB Jordan Travis’ season-ending injury. See what Colorado Buffaloes star player Travis Hunter has to say about the QB’s reaction.

Travis Hunter stands with Jordan Travis in his heartbreaking moment

Florida State star player Jordan Travis posted his emotions online in a statement saying that he is “devastated” and “heartbroken” that his team didn’t make it to the playoffs despite being undefeated. In response to Jordan Travis, Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter said, “Jordan Travis is trying to stand on business but they already did what they did. So, it’s not an overreaction.”

The last 13-0 record is the third time Florida State boasted that unblemished record. Jordan Travis sustained a season-ending injury on November 18 against North Alabama and didn’t play the last two games. CFP committee chair Boo Corrigan spoke about the decision on ESPN on Sunday, “Florida State is a different team than they were through the first 11 weeks. An incredible season. But as you look at who they are as a team, right now, without Jordan Travis, without the offensive dynamic that he brings to it, they are a different team.

When Jordan Travis said he wished he broke his leg earlier so that the credit would be given to the team as a whole, the Buffs star said, “Jordan Travis is right. But I wish he did never break his leg.” Following the utter shock, Florida State University athletics director Michael Alford said, “For many of us, today’s decision by the committee has forever damaged the credibility of the institution that is the College Football Playoff.

To say that Jordan Travis is overreacting over the recent situation could be an overreaction in itself. Florida State managed to finish the season with a pristine 13-0 record. Hopefully, their time will come when they beat all odds and prove that they’re one of the best college football teams, with or without their star QB.
